Privacy Policy

Welcome to AniVortex ("we", "our", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the AniVortex mobile application ("App").

By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. AniVortex is distributed as a sideloaded Android application and is not available on the Google Play Store.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information (Optional)

If you choose to create an account or sign in with Google, we collect:

• Username — chosen by you
• Email address
• Password — stored securely as a hash on our servers
• Profile avatar URL

Account creation is optional. You may use certain features of the App without an account.

Device Information

We automatically collect the following device-level data:

• Device Identifier (UDID) — A unique device ID used for analytics and the Vortex Pass reward system. This is NOT your Google Advertising ID.
• Platform — Operating system (e.g., Android)
• App Version — Version and build number of the App

Advertising Data (Third-Party SDK)

We use TopOn as our ad mediation platform, which may work with third-party ad networks. These services may collect:

• Google Advertising ID (GAID)
• Device make, model, and OS version
• IP address (for geo-targeting and fraud prevention)
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks, video completions)
• Network connection type

Analytics Data

We collect anonymous usage events (such as "heartbeat" and "app_close") to understand how the App is used. Analytics events include:

• Event name and timestamp
• Device ID
• Platform and app version

Ad Block Detection

The App performs DNS-based checks to detect ad blockers or private DNS services that interfere with ad delivery. This involves resolving a small number of well-known ad-serving domain names. No browsing history or personal DNS data is collected.

Locally Stored Data

The following data is stored only on your device and is never sent to our servers:

• Downloaded video files and metadata
• App settings and preferences
• Watch history and progress
• Vortex Pass state (energy bolts, shield status)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide core functionality — streaming, downloads, user accounts
• Serve advertisements — through TopOn and its ad network partners to keep the App free
• Operate the Vortex Pass — tracking ad watches and energy bolts per device
• Monitor App health — through analytics (active users, heartbeat events)
• Detect ad blockers — to ensure fair ad delivery and sustain the free service
• Improve the App — based on aggregated, anonymized usage data

We do NOT sell your personal data to third parties. We do NOT share your email or account information with advertisers. We do NOT use your data for purposes unrelated to the App.

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

TopOn may mediate ads from networks including but not limited to: AdMob, Meta Audience Network, Unity Ads, Pangle, Mintegral, and others. Each network has its own data practices.

4. Data Retention

• Account data — retained as long as your account exists. You may request deletion at any time.
• Analytics events — retained for up to 12 months, then automatically purged.
• Device IDs — retained for the duration of your use of the Vortex Pass feature.
• Local data — deleted when you uninstall the App or clear App data.

5. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

• Passwords are hashed before storage (never stored in plain text)
• API communications use HTTPS encryption
• Auth tokens are stored in encrypted local storage

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Children's Privacy

AniVortex is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Update your account information through the App's settings
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting us
• Opt out of personalized advertising by resetting your Google Advertising ID in your device settings

8. GDPR Consent (EU Users)

If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area:

• We obtain your consent before initializing the advertising SDK and processing data for personalized ads
• You may withdraw consent at any time by contacting us
• TopOn SDK is initialized with GDPR-compliant consent levels as required

Note: The majority of our users are based in India. EU-specific regulations apply only to users within EU/EEA jurisdictions.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
